My 2017 Look-back

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family, and that you created some time just for you.

At the end of each year, I take some time to look back. I consider what has gone well; what hasn’t, and how I need to “show up” differently in the various aspects of my life. And of course, document what I want to create in my life over the upcoming year. Note the emphasis on “create!”

Here’s my edited wrap up of this year. My son diagnosed at 5, now 21 is doing very well. He’s in the middle of driver training, and working to save some money for a car. This driving thing is scary to say the least.

The biggest challenge of this year pertains to my daughter, who has been unwell for many months. This has required me to dig deeper than ever to remain strong for her while keeping my head on straight (and living away from home since September.) My work with clients has been my saviour, which may seem strange, but giving of my knowledge and experience always buoys my spirits and leaves me feeling good. I know in my heart that I was put here to help others like you.

I’m grateful for the resilience I’ve developed through my hardships, and for my ability to turn my “lemons into lemonade.” I give thanks for my ability to release “some of my emotional Samsonites,” if you’ll pardon the expression! I credit my training as a Certified EFT Practitioner for this… Emotional Freedom Techniques, or “tapping,” as it’s often referred to has been so helpful in bringing me back to centre during the worst of times. On that front, this year won the big prize for the “mother of all years.” I went through a period of not wanting to tap, which happens. We have the strangest minds, which do NOT work in our favour, by the way. But, the only way to get through that was to tap! (Thank you Cindy.)

As far as 2018 goes, I’ll be sharing an exciting announcement in the next week! If you’re worried about your child’s behaviour and want to learn the skills to turn your “lemons to lemonade” this could be a game-changer for you! Note: I’ll be looking for a group of 8 Moms to join me in a beta-test of the program… so please stay tuned!)

Until then, stay warm and please give yourself some love. Be your own best friend when you can. We both know that you deserve it. Happy New Year!

With love and gratitude,

Sue
